Happy to see the mutual respect here. I hope Chael accepted the roses Silva gave. That first fight, Chael literally beat Anderson up and made one mistake that cost him. That's the sport. But nobody did to Anderson what Chael did, ever. 2 greats here and the respect is what makes this sport great. Also shows the showmanship builds it, and it's over. Glad Chael closed a chapter here.

Anderson Silva in his prime in this era ? he would be the middleweight champion.
Mma has improved and I believe chael and Anderson would've moved with the times and still done just as well
They definitely changed the game and how mma fights were promoted.
It takes two to tango, and these two did it better than anyone, at a time when the UFC needed someone to actually “challenge” Anderson.

I'll answer the question that they didn't answer. Prime Silva vs the current middleweight division would be the same as it was in his prime. He would dominate. Izzy against Silva in his prime would have been a barn burner. Chael Sonnen would be very good also, but his best fights would be against Whittaker and Costa. Those are the top 5 in the division now, and the new crop just can't get to the same level as them.
